The harvest 2023 is completed! Nature gifted us with beautiful grapes of very good quality. Here is our harvesting report. |

The grapes of Roter Veltliner were rarely healthier, brighter and more beautiful than this year.
Sugar and acidity find a perfect balance, the total yield is on average.

Short before starting the harvest we received nearly 60mm of rain. Hail damaged up to 100% in some vineyards of our colleagues just a few kilometres away from us. Vines and grapes absorbed the water and the concentration of sugar stagnated.
But then - beautiful weather pushed the ripeness forward. Warm, dry days nearly till the end of the harvest. These conditions were very beneficial for the grape's quality. So beneficial that vineyards with less yield -or were we reduced the number of grapes for the Reserven- the ripeness was faster, than expected. Harvesting nearly round the clock was the order. For pressing the grapes as cold as possible we started pretty early every day. In the last days the temperature dropped almost to freezing point.

We can already taste how the wine will turn out from the freshly pressed must, which we directly catch from the press. A fresh glass of Grüner Veltliner must is just wonderful!
We expect a good vintage. Neither too much nor too little alcohol, moderate piquant acidity and fine fruity notes.
