About the magic
After more than a month of harvesting, we're relieved to close all weather apps and won't open them again for a veeeeery long time. The entire year's hard work has been brought in the cellar and bubbles away. Amazingly good acidity levels promise freshness and thanks to a strict monitoring of ripeness the wines will have good alcohol values. What could we want more!
Ried Kirchengarten (1st picture) and Ried Laa 8000 (2nd picture) were the last vineyards. Our two Weinviertel DAC Reserves 1ÖTW are traditionally always picked at the end of the harvest. The exposed location also makes Ried Kirchengarten popular among starlings. That's why we pay close attention to the sky. If a large flock is spotted, the picking shears need to get started fast. Grüner Veltliner is already showing its autumn colours bit by bit. Soon the vineyards will glow once again in a beautiful yellow, just like our labels #setzeryellow.
Our press house is equipped with a powerful photovoltaic system and battery banks, allowing us to run our presses and pumps with solar power. This makes us self-sufficient for a good part of the year.
