Grüner Veltliner

The wine-growing region called “Weinviertel” is found in Lower Austria. Its approximately 33,000 acres of vineyards represent almost a third (29.1 per cent) of all winegrowing in Austria.

In other words, the Weinviertel is Austria’s largest wine region. The cultivation area of the grape variety Grüner Veltliner amounts to some 15,000 acres or about 47 per cent!
